Called PyroLac Pr0, the lacquer which has been developed by Becker Acroma can be used on wood panelling, interior doors, staircases and most other areas.

The system was tested in March this year by Warrington Fire Research and has been certified to meet BS 476 Part 6 Flame Propogation Class 0, upgrading and maintaining, and BS 476 Part 7 Class 1 Surface Spread of flame.

The system is made up of three products – a waterborne basecoat, waterborne intumescent flame retardant clear lacquer and a solventborne acid catalysed two-pack clear flame resistant lacquer.

“Increasing fire protection legislation is one of the most important issues for the building industry and PyroLac Pr0 has been developed to assist in meeting these regulations while not compromising on quality of finish,” said Mike Willis of Becker Acroma who developed the system.
