Fermacell gypsum fibreboard, a product used in timber frame interior walling systems, has been successfully tested to meet the latest European fire regulations.
The product, which had already been tested for one-hour fire resistance to meet BS 476 Part 22, was reviewed to meet the new European Standard EN 1363: Fire Resistance Tests for Non-loadbearing elements, Parts 1-3. The tests confirmed its one-hour fire performance.
Fermacell’s fire-resistant quality was a major reason for it being selected by Aztec Fire Solutions for use at the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington. Compartment walls to the laboratory’s anechoic chambers required both fire resistant and acoustic isolation.
