Dutch vertical panel saw specialist Elcon announced its plan to challenge the automatic horizontal beam saw market.

Its flagship Advance2 Quadra vertical automatic beam saw links with Ardis optimising software to cut rough panels to final product sizes, with fully programmable cutting.

Director Pieter Meijer said the machine was aimed at larger companies that would benefit from a small machine footprint and a lack of manual handling.

The machining head automatically changes from horizontal to vertical, while an advanced clamping system ensures that panels can be kept on the machine between cuts.
