Crompton Joinery says it has improved production efficiency since investing in a Striebig Evolution vertical panel saw.

The Stevenage-based joinery, which bought the machine to replace an older German-made unit, says the Evolution 5224 has improved the efficiency of panel cutting work and sizing of door blanks, as well as reducing dust blow-back.

The Evolution is used to size and cut MDF, plywood and veneered plywood sheets ranging in thickness from 3-35mm.

Crompton says the machine is also able to cut through 44mm or 54mm thick chipboard or plywood faced solid core door blanks.

The Evolution features a maximum cutting size of 4300x2240mm, a digital measuring system, an adjustable precision display, a fully automatic roller locking function and automatic moving backing support.

The integral TRK dust and chip extraction system, fitted as standard, is designed to keep dust levels below permitted European limits.

Striebig saws are available from £8,300-25,000.
