Customer demand for decking to keep its original colour has prompted the Dutch company Felix Clercx to develop a weather-resistant stain, custom made for use on its wood plastic composite decking.
The company said that, just like hardwood, its untreated FelixTechWood boards will undergo a natural process of turning grey.
It has now developed water and dirt repellent FelixTechWood Finish which, it maintains, protects the decking against the effects of the weather and UV rays, and damage such as scratches.
The finish, which is guaranteed for five years, is available in shades of brown and granite.
