Berkshire-based Shorts bought the machine from Blue Machinery and has said that it will be a lynchpin of its operations at its St George’s Lane facility.

“We are contracted to produce 3,000 tonnes of wood chips every month for biomass fuel at an energy generation plant operated by Slough Heat and Power,” said managing director Gary Short.

“The Doppstadt is proving to be more than productive enough for us to be able to satisfy this large demand.”

The AK-430K is designed for green and wood waste processing and is able to chip tree trunks, roots, pallets and timber constructon waste.
