Dieffenbacher successfully commissioned eight greenfield HDF/THDF plants in China during 2004.
The company, which has assigned a dedicated team of site supervisors to deal with Chinese customers, said the surge of activity stems from a growing demand for MDF in the country.
The latest order, the 10th to be received by Dieffenbacher since the start of 2002, has been placed by the Weihua Group. The new THDF plant, Weihua’s second order with Dieffenbacher, will be constructed for new company Guangdong Taishan City Weilibang Wood Industry Co Ltd in Guangdong province.
Weihua ordered the 100,000m3 capacity plant to capitalise on the growing demand for thin panels.
Dieffenbacher will supply a complete machinery package for the plant, which will have a speed of 1,200mm/sec, including gluing, drying, air grading, a diagonal saw, board cooling and a forming and press line using an 8ftx18m CPS press. It is designed to manufacture thin MDF/HDF boards from 2mm to 12mm in thickness.
