High pressure laminate fabricator Rearo Laminates has made major investments in new plant for its main Glasgow workshops.
Early last year saw the installation of a Brandt single-sided throughfeed edgebander with a special PU glue application system.
The installation was overseen by John Mackay, sales manager at Deral Ltd, the Scottish sales and service partner to Homag UK. He worked closely with all involved on the specification of a machine that could work with extra thick panels and a variety of edging materials.
Rearo specialises in wall lining systems, and its components are often specified for high-use situations involving moisture, so particular attention has to be paid to the sealing and bonding of edges.
Deral is currently installing a Black Bros gluing line at Rearo. It comprises a panel cleaning machine, a 52in glue spreader, laminating indexing station and heated rollers – a combination that will speed up production.
Investment in the two machines is in the region of £220,000.
