The project began at last year’s TTJ Awards where Mr Hewer was the host and spoke about his planned trip to take the saw to Africa to help woodworkers establish a business. Daltons Wadkin director Francis Dalton volunteered to help and on December 15 the company’s technical director Steve Balchin flew out, taking a complete tool kit, to up set the machine. He also trained the woodworkers to use it safely, returning on December 18.
