Joinery manufacturer CW Fields & Son Ltd has installed a Bütfering wide belt sanding line for calibrating specialist doors.
The machine, supplied by Homag UK, will be used on fire doors and acoustic doors.
Prior to the installation at Fields’ Epworth 17,500ft2 factory, calibrating was performed on a single top sanding Bütfering unit.
The new line is configured with a Bütfering SUR113R bottom sander at the infeed linked in line to a SCR113R. Both are single head machines equipped with a steel contact roller.
Fields intends to equip the infeed and outfeed with vacuum lifts to turn the process into a one-man operation.
