Cruing polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tooling has been supplied for 11 SCM CNC machining centres at kitchen and bedroom door manufacturer Browns 2000.

Crewe-based tooling supplier Cruing (UK) Ltd provided PCD tools for a succession of new Ergon machining centres installed at Browns 2000’s Cramlington factory throughout 2004.

Browns 2000, which manufactures 20,000 MDF doors a week, purchased the 11 Ergons in a £2.45m investment, though tooling for the first few machines was provided through a previous supplier.

Cruing tools for CNC machining centres include type DPUGH Imperial size diamond router with cylindrical shank; type DP1M3 in diameters from 16-20mm; type DP2M3 in diameters from 18-20mm; Type DP3F, in 18-25mm diameters; and the 25mm type DP4F.

Browns 2000 will also equip a further four Ergons, to be installed during 2005, with Cruing tooling.
