Wakefield-based Crompton Controls has been working in partnership with a woodworking machinery company to complete a comprehensive testing programme on injection braking systems.

Sales engineer Nigel Greaves said: “With the focus firmly on health and safety due to the new mandatory government legislation, we worked with Fenay Woodworking Machinery of Huddersfield to put the braking system we have developed to the test.”

The result is a S10 DC Injection Braking System for single and multi-motor machines which form part of specialist woodworking equipment including tenoners and resaws.

The system, which can be retrofitted, will ensure the blade on a ripsaw machine will stop in a preset time which can be adjusted up to 10 seconds.
