Lightweight conveyor belt manufacturer Habasit, whose supply base includes sawmilling applications right down to the timber crafts sector, has joined with conveyor gear box producer Rossi to create a new company called Habasit Rossi Ltd.
The merger follows Swiss-based Habasit’s acquisition of Rossi Motoriduttori Spa, based in Italy.
In the UK, the new company will operate from Habasit’s head office in Silsden, several service centres and the Rossi site in Coventry.
“The bringing together of the two companies will now enable us to offer an even better customer service, including a wider choice of products and stronger sales coverage,” said Habasit UK managing director Steve Wike, now joint managing director of the new company.
