Combilift’s owners Martin McVicar and Robert Moffett have taken full ownership of Aisle-Master and will move production to the Combilift site at Monaghan.

Aisle-Master managing director Gerry McHugh sold his shareholding in the company, which makes a range of AC electric-driven and LP Gas-powered articulated forklifts, to fellow shareholders Mr McVicar and Mr Moffett.

Aisle-Master said it had outgrown its Clontibret base, while the production line and R&D facilities of Combilift’s Monaghan factory would enable it to further develop its range.

An area in the Combilift factory will be dedicated to Aisle-Master production, with a capacity of 300 units annually.

“Just as Combilift addressed expansion by establishing its new premises in 2006, Aisle-Masters’s move to Monaghan is the next logical step to enable increased production of this very distinct and successful brand,” said Martin McVicar, who heads up Aisle-Master.

Combilift and Aisle-Master have a combined annual output of more than 2,000 units, creating a turnover of £80m.

Aisle-Master, formed in 2000, has trucks which are able to operate in aisle widths of just 1.75m.
