Rochdale-based Trade Mouldings has spent more than £2m on new facilities to expand its offering to customers, with non-standard door sizes now available without minimum order quantities.
The new operation will centre on four SCM Ergon CNC Multi-head Machining Centres installed at the company’s Cookstown factory and will allow Trade Mouldings to offer non standard doors with a two-week lead time and in a choice of 22 colours.
The SCM CNC machines, which were ordered over a year ago, each feature four heads capable of operating at 30,000 revolutions per minute and are supported by SCM’s Xilog computer system and AlphaDoor software, with special programs allowing Trade Mouldings to easily switch between batch and high-volume production.
