The good reputation of Altendorf in the sliding table panel saw market was enough for Surrey-based architectural joiners Classical Images to buy a new Altendorf F45 to replace its older model.

The Chessington-based company said its older F45 had not let it down but lacked some of the technical features of newer models and some wear and tear had taking place over the years.

Daltons wadkin specified a new F45, incorporating a 3200mm sliding table, two-axis scorer, Rapido system, power operated rip fence, a variable spindle speed of 2000-6000rpm and cutting width of 130mm. The machine also incorporated power-operated tilt and rise and fall movements to the saw spindle.

The old machine was taken in part exchange.
