One of the first of the new generation of thin high density fibreboard plants in China is being installed by Dieffenbacher.

The Lishui OAK group has commissioned a Dieffenbacher CPS system and the Germany company was also assigned project co-ordination of various supplier packages including the wood yard, chip generation and fibre preparation as well as the energy plant, sanding line and cut-to-size system.

The advanced features of the mechanical forming head enable production of boards to a minimum thickness of 2mm from the continuous CPS press. An equalising roller system calibrates the fibre mat prior to pre-pressing in the continuous multi-nip belt pre-press. Measuring and scanning instrumentation in the forming line allows continuous and accurate monitoring of mat and fibre quality before arriving at the infeed of the Dieffenbacher CPS press.

The press was installed with a nominal production width of 8ft and a a technological press length of 23.2m. It has a high speed infeed section specially suited for thin board production and the press profile control system gives minimum ex press board tolerances across the entire board thickness spectrum.

Master panel lengths of 14-16ft are handled by the Dieffenbacher-designed system and are stacked after passing the 360 degree cooling star.

The board stacks are then taken to the sanding and cut-to-size line before passing through a strapping line en route to the warehousing and despatch bay.
