South-east timber supplier AW Champion Ltd has joined forces with other sponsors to help out Kingston Rugby Club, whose pavilion was destroyed by fire earlier this year. The sponsors have provided cash for temporary changing rooms.
The clubhouse was gutted as a result of youths throwing fireworks, sending 133 years of history up in flames and causing £250,000 worth of damage.
Martin Saunders, a director of AW Champion, and ex-player of the club said the financial assistance that Champion was giving Kingston RFC was part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the local community.
