Ransford has purchased the vehicle as part of a significant mill investment plan to meet growing demand for quality fencing products for use primarily on motorways and trunk roads.

The L90E joins a fleet of five Volvo loaders of varying ages, all either rehandling bark chippings, milled sawdust, or raw and finished products.

Ransford has even restored a 1951 Volvo BM10 Bollinder Munktell tractor on the site.

The 16.7 tonne L90E inherits a bespoke log grapple, previously used on one of Ransford’s older L70s, for the handling of around 50,000 tonnes of mixed softwood round timber per year.

It features a six litre engine and an operating load of 4,600kg.
