SCM attributed a strong turnout at its latest in-house exhibition to continuing buoyancy in the property and construction markets.

“The high number of visitors from these sectors was evident, with machines demonstrated producing window, stair and door components proving extremely popular and a number of impressive orders being placed at the show,” said the company.

Among the models on display was the new version of the Record 132 TVN Prisma 5-axis CNC machine which is targeted at window, stair, door and solid wood component makers. The new variant has “fast set-up” 24-position tool changers and uses the latest software from SCM, Licom and Staircon.

The show also featured the UK debut of the Actionline Record 110 AL which was demonstrated “nesting” a number of panels out of full-sized sheets of MDF and chipboard. Orders for the machine have been signed with shopfitters, display companies and MDF door producers.

Sales of three Window 20 CNS window machining centre and a complete window line, with four planer moulders, were also confirmed.

Other orders included an Impact panel beam saw, the latest S2000 single edge-bander, an IDM Activa single-sided machine, Sandya and DMC wide-belt sanders and a Tech 25 CNC routing and boring centre.

“It was an excellent show, with over £700,000 or orders taken, and more to follow,” said SCM (UK) managing director Ian Brown.
