BSW Timber has trebled the treatment capacity of its Fort William sawmill with the installation of a high-pressure Arch Timber Protection system.
The 15×2.4m tank offers a tilting capability and will produce Tanalised green and Tanatone brown preservative treated timber.
BSW installed a near identical treatment facility at its Newbridge-on-Wye site in 2007, which also trebled the company’s treatment capacity on-site.
In addition to the main tank, the treatment services have been designed to allow expansion in the future, including low-pressure treatment and additional high-pressure capacity as required.
“This upgrade will enable us to significantly boost the treatment capabilities at Fort William and ensure that the sawmilling business evolves with our customers and services their demands,” said chief executive Tony Hackney.
“Innovation in the value-added area is key to our development.”
