The new BSW Alouette joint venture had its first public outing at Interbuild and enjoyed a warm welcome.

The partnership between BSW Timber Systems and Québec-based timber panelised system engineers Alouette International Homes became official on April 1 and, according to managing director Norman Gore, “Interbuild came just at the right time”.

“The press coverage has generated a lot of interest and we’ve had good traffic on the stand,” he added.

By the fourth day of Interbuild that traffic was being described as “brilliant”. “We’ve had lots of enquiries from major builders wanting to go forward with us,” said Mr Gore. “And we’ve already had an e-mail from someone requesting drawings for 70 units – they really mean business.”

He added that there was “great potential” for the joint venture, which uses the Canadian Super E timber engineering technology as a means of building energy efficient housing. “It brings the end user a very good living environment,” he said.
