John Brownlie, deputy chairman and director of BSW Timber plc, is the new president of the UK Forest Products Association. He succeeds Tony Willis of Euroforest Ltd, who has completed a two-year term.

Speaking at the AGM at the Scottish parliament building, Mr Brownlie acknowledged the work undertaken by Tony Willis, the members of the UKFPA executive council and David and Dorothy Sulman. Mr Brownlie commented on the changes which have taken place in the sector following the publication of the MacDonald report on forest industry representation. “The industry faces challenges and opportunities and a concerted and professional approach to representation should serve the sector well, while at the same time, ensuring effective communication with members and the continued provision of a high standard of service to members,” he said.
