The size of the company’s moulding and finishing mill has doubled with the construction of a new purpose buïlt 2,000m2 manufacturing unit which will house its automated flooring lines, oak door manufacturing and five finishing lines.

“The rationale behind the project was to consolidate our manufacturing units onto one site, providing the company with logistical benefits, increased capacity and considerable savings on rental expenditure,” said director Mark Fleming who project managed the building programme.

Brooks Bros, the Maldon-based parent company of Fitchett and Woollacott and British Plywood Manufacturers, also recently took possession of the third Weinig Powermat 1000 moulder and second Rondamat 960 grinder to be installed in the past year.

“In the past 18 months we have invested more than £1m in new buildings and equipment which is a significant investment for the Brooks Group,” said group managing director Mark Sherriff.

“This demonstrates our commitment to customer service and the value added side of our business.”
