Osmose‘s alternative to traditional CCA timber treatment is being used for the first time in the UK by Brookridge Timber for a new range of wood products.
Brookridge’s Osmose Naturewood range is treated with Celcure AC, a water-based wood treatment containing copper and a co-biocide.
Roy Brooke, managing director of Devon-based Brookridge Timber, said: ‘It appears to us that with restrictions on CCA possible and the USA agreeing to transition to alternative products for non-industrial applications, the addition of Osmose Celcure AC would be the right product for us to supply customers who prefer to have their timber preserved with non-arsenic based preservatives.’
He said Naturewood is ideal for structural timber, garden furniture, playground equipment, patios, decks, fencing, garden edging and landscaping structures.
