Postsaver, based in Stockton-on-Tees, was having its European launch in Hall 27, and according to the company it had received good leads from all around the world.

The product, which has been in the UK and US for the past two to three years, is coated internally with bituminous sealant and heat shrunk onto wooden posts by a special machine developed by Stenner.

The system, designed to protect in-ground timber against decay and termite attack, is being targeted at sawmills and fencing manufacturers to add value to their products.

Already stocked by builders merchant chains such as Build Center and Travis Perkins, the company hopes it will now make an impact in the DIY market. One of its more unusual uses is for grape staves in California’s wine industry.
