BeA Fastening Systems Ltd has supplied the tooling for an automated cigar box making machine.
The company provided Sewtec, a project engineering company specialising in designing and manufacturing purpose-built automated solutions, with five bench-mounted series 230 self-reload staplers, which simultaneously secure the four plywood sides and base of the box.
Each machine can be loaded with up to 10,000 staples, allowing for the production of up to 250 boxes per hour and reducing downtime significantly.
The machine was made for a well-known blue-chip organisation.
