Industrial fastenings supplier BeA Fastening Systems Ltd has urged manufacturers to ditch old production methods and move to automation.

The Beverley-based company said investment in automated fastening systems could help profit margins in a business climate hindered by a lack of skilled machine operators, cheaper imports and high labour costs.

BeA’s automation initiative is being backed up by PR and direct mail campaigns to existing and potential customers.

Dave Meakin, BeA’s UK sales manager, said: “Relatively few organisations are aware of the fact that the use of automated systems deliver countless benefits including speed efficiency, consistency and accuracy, as well as dramatically cutting the cost of labour.”

BeA supplies a range of self-reload tools and CNC controlled nailing, stapling and clipping systems.
