Bayer MaterialScience has developed a range of solvent-free polyurethane dispersions for wood coatings to meet the needs of its customers worldwide.

The German company says the aliphatic polyurethane dispersions contain no N-methyl pyrrolidone and require less cosolvent than their predecessors for film formation.

The new Bayhydrol XP 2557, 2593 and 2558 dispersions are designed for formulating waterborne coatings used on parquets, while the XP 2606 carbonate-polyurethane dispersion is aimed at giving coatings a high level of chemical resistance.
