Irish sawmilling giant Balcas has leased a Case 1188P hydraulic excavator to free up log-jams on its production line.
With 8,000m³ of timber being processed each week at its £15m Enniskillen sawmill, Balcas needs its production line to be operating at all times.
The Case picks up any logs that have slipped and look likely to jam the conveyor. Its hydraulically elevating cab can be raised 2m to give a clear view and a 5.9m boom and 6m dipper can reach in to extract logs.
