Wolfgang Heap has won the Dynea Technology Award for his work on the AsWood project.

Mr Heap, sales and marketing manager at Dynea Erkner, received the award for the development and marketing of protein modified phenol-formaldehyde resins (pPF), which form part of the AsWood range.

AsWood has been designed to allow the manufacture of wood-based bonded boards that are more environmentally-friendly, with the resins used in the production of the range exhibiting formaldehyde emission levels “as low as those found in solid, untreated wood”.

“At Dynea we believe that technology gives us the possibility to anticipate and fulfill customer needs that they may not have even thought of yet,” said Dynea president and chief executive officer Roger Carlstedt.
