A £350,000 investment has enabled Arnold Laver Timber World at Reading to increase its stock holding by more than 25%.

The company purchased a large shed, complete with racking system, a Combilift truck and has extended and upgraded the milling facility.

New machinery includes a five-sided planer/moulder and a cross-cut saw, both made by Leadermac, a Stenner ST 100 bandsaw, a straight line edger and a profile grinder. The company said the additions have enabled it to take on bigger jobs, speed up operations and improve the quality of products.

The extra physical space means a wider range of hardwoods, softwoods, joinery products and sheet materials are available for immediate collection/delivery. A full range of laminate is also being offered ex-stock.

Reading depot manager Rob Barrington said: “This much-needed additional space and better milling facility is going to be invaluable to our customers. By stocking a greater product offering, we can enhance our ‘All Under One Roof’ status.”
