Malcolm Jones, international sales director for Arch Timber Protection, has retired after 33 years with the company in a variety of roles.

He will be succeeded as sales director by Dr Tony Kelly, who joined Arch in January 2006 as business development manager from the Arch UK Biocides business.

In the first six months of their retirement Mr Jones and his wife Jenny will climb Mt Olympus in Greece, then trek across the Alps and eventually on to Nepal where they will attempt the Anapurna Circuit.

Arch has also appointed Kevin Hughes to the position of technical support manager.

Mr Hughes, who joined Arch last year, has worked in the chemical industry for more than 20 years. He will be based at Arch’s Castleford operation and will be responsible for managing laboratory-based technical support and will co-ordinate the team’s efforts for the UK and export markets.
