Visitors to American Softwoods’ new stand were shown a comprehensive range of US species and products from member companies within the Southern Forest Products Association and the Softwood Export Council.
These included southern yellow pine, which was used as flooring for the purpose-built stand, decking samples from the UK-based Outdoor Deck Co and mouldings from the US-based Sunset Moulding Company.
John Morrison, president and chief executive officer of the latter, said he’d made the trip from Yuba City, California because he liked the idea of “a true timber show” rather than a building show.
“Most of our business is in the Far East and this is the first time I’ve exhibited in the UK,” said Mr Morrison. “This is so focused and I was very impressed with the pre-show marketing.”
