Sometimes in life rare coincidences occur, but none stranger for me than that on the night before Christmas last year.

At Lionvest we order a copy of the Timber Trade Address Book annually, as does almost everyone else in the trade. On Christmas Eve I was doing last minute shopping at Sainsbury’s in Hove when I wandered over to a bin to dump car clutter.

Lying right on top of the bin was a brand spanking new copy of the Timber Trade Address Book 2002, sitting there as if waiting for me to come along!

Now you may shrug and say ‘and so what?’, but of all the publications in all the world (and bear in mind the book costs £82!) to be sitting on a bin which I – a member of the timber trade – happened to walk up to at that exact moment, is pretty weird. I don’t even shop at that store usually.

I took great pleasure in cancelling the copy on order and the subscription staff had to admit it was, without doubt, the best cancellation story they had ever had. Spooky!
