North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a mechanical fault had been established as the cause of the blaze, which started on the afternoon of October 22 and affected two dust silos and a conveyor belt.
Four firecrews were in attendance, with firefighters remaining on the scene until the next morning. The fire service said nobody was injured in the incident.
“Our world-class fire safety standards, protection systems and procedures meant we were able to contain and extinguish the fire quickly,” said Alex Gambroudes, Kronospan commercial director.
“The fire lasted only a couple of minutes but the fire crews remained on site to monitor the situation as part of our strict safety procedures.
“There was no significant material loss and only a short downtime to enable us to complete the removal of potential embers and clean up.”
Three fires were reported at the factory during the summer.
