The Coldridge-based manufacturer bought the Compact machine from Striebig UK distributor TM Machinery Sales to cut carcass materials, including birch plywood, veneered MDF and blockboard.

Owner Nick Clayton said he decided on a refurbished machine as it was important to watch costs at his small company and he didn’t want to borrow from a bank.

He said the Compact had freed up extra workshop space for assembly work.

TM Machinery director Matt Pearce said refurbished machines are stripped down so all bearings and other parts subject to wear can be replaced.

Clayton Cabinets specialises in designing and making bespoke kitchens and furniture, using local timber when possible, including oak, cedar, chestnut and yew.
