A leading Malaysian timber industry executive has died following a car accident.

Dr Philip Kang, executive chairman of Pan Pacific Asia Bhd, was killed when his Toyota Camry left the road and struck a tree near Kuala Lumpur on New Year’s day.

Mr Kang, who was honorary secretary of the Sarawak Timber Association and secretary-general of the Asia-Pacific Tropical Timber Organisation, was chief executive of Pan Pacific Asia’s timber operations.
