Mr Davidson joined Hunt Brothers in 1965 and became a main board director in 1975. He specialised in panel products, working specifically with decorative veneer producers and Far Eastern plywood mills.
With the retirement of the last of the Hunt family in 1996 he, together with his two colleagues Geoff Hilditch and Ian Cartwright, completed a management buyout of the company. Mr Davidson continued to work there until 2003 when he took early retirement.
Mr Davidson was a larger than life character with a jovial and generous nature. This, combined with his in-depth product knowledge, won him many life-long friends in the trade. He will be greatly missed by all.
Hunt Brothers and Company Ltd extends its deepest sympathy to his wife Joan, daughters Sharon and Maxine, sons Andrew and Ian and their respective families.
