Accoya was used in the main body of Montefiore Mill as well as the sails. The work was carried out by Netherlands joinery specialist and contractor Bouw en Molenbouw Bertus Dijkstra.

The 19th century flour mill was restored to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of Israel and has been dedicated as a museum.

"Accoya matches and often exceeds the properties of tropical hardwoods. With a 50-year guarantee and superior UV resistance, Accoya serves as the perfect material to restore Montefiore Mill, which will stand as an iconic landmark in Jerusalem for years to come," said a spokesperson for the contractor.
