BAC Såg & Hyvleri, which has a sawmill and further processed timber component facility in Örarna in Luuleå, went into administration last September.
Stenvalls said its immediate intention was to use BAC’s planing and painting lines for the manufacture of spruce roofing and building panels for the home construction market, employing three to five people in production.
"In addition to the current significant investments at our new sawmill line in Lövholmen, the acquisition fits well with the company’s long-term strategy of being able to offer our customers a complete softwood product range," said Stenvalls managing director Anders Nordmark.
"It will allow us the possibilities to further enhance our existing product ranges at our production units in Sikfors and Luleå."
Mr Nordmark said the move would help ready the company for when the market picks up.
Stenvalls is represented in the UK by Barker & Co (Timber Agents) Ltd.
