DEG, which has a €449m annual turnover and 55 branches, contracted OHRA to supply and deliver 2,800m of cantilever racks and 300 storage spaces composed of pallet and cantilever racks for the Butzbach warehouse. The installation was assembled in just two weeks.
DEG invested in the new warehouse following a significant sales increase in the central Hesse region. Now it can supply its customers and branches in the area with greater efficiency.
Racking space for construction wood is around 1,000m3, for products including KVH superdried and finger-jointed construction timber, glulam in 5-16m lengths, OSB, plywood, planed goods and wood fibre insulation boards.
Cantilever racking rows are 40-50m long and 6.2m high, while the additional 300 storage spaces are for the storage of palletised goods and basic supplies.
The warehouse is served by two Hubtex side-loading fork lifts and a Linde front-loading fork lift.
