Companies which sign up to the scheme can use BRE’s Product Category Rules (PCR) to help them ensure their products comply with EN15804.
From here they can create EPDs with input from a Life Cycle Assessment Practitioner, a role BRE also performs. Once the EPD is developed and verified by BRE Global, it will then be listed on the latters Greenbooklive websites.
“Scheme members receive a verified EPD and an industry-recognised BRE Global certification mark, demonstrating their product has gone through rigorous assessment and verification,” said BRE sustainable products associate director Victoria Blake.
“EPDs quantify environmental impacts of products or systems and help manufacturers engage with the supply chain.”
