Having joined Ridgeons in 1973, in the showrooms of the Group’s Cambridge Regent Street store, Mr Greavett was appointed sanitaryware estimator in 1980, taking over the management of the department in 1987. In 1995 he was appointed as project liaison manager for the Cambridge development move from Tenison Road to Nuffield Road, and the redevelopment of Cavendish Road to Cromwell Road.
On completion of the project Mr Greavett became group property and development manager in 1998, and promoted to the Ridgeons’ board as group property and development director in 2003. He was instrumental in the acquisition of several of Ridgeons’ flagship branches including most recently its Royston branch, which opened in 2012.
In addition to his director role, Mr Greavett was also involved with the Ridgeons’ 25 Club, which recognises the long service of employees after 25 years’ service, sitting on the committee and holding the club’s chairmanship in 2011. In 2012 he was honoured with a Special Lifetime Achievement award from Ridgeons.
