He is currently chief financial officer and executive vice-president, Food and Medical Business Area, at Ahlstrom Corporation.
Mr Parvi has several years of CFO and business management experience in the pulp, paper and packaging industry. Prior to joining Ahlstrom, he was CFO for Metsä Board (M-real) and before that spent more than 10 years in various line management positions at packaging company Huhtamäki.
"Seppo Parvi has great experience in developing, leading and reshaping large international organisations. His current business responsibilities cover markets such as India and China, which are also important growth markets for Stora Enso," said Stora Enso CEO Jouko Karvinen.
Mr Parvi will take up his new post during the first quarter of 2014.
