Kingfisher said B&Q‘s total sales of £1bn were boosted by favourable weather stimulating early seasonal demand for gardening and outdoor products, sales of which grew more than 20% year on year. Retail profit increased by 82.2% to £32.8m.
The DIY retailer continues to revamp its existing stores, with eight large projects completed in the first quarter, while the next phase of eight revamps will start at the end of the second quarter.
In addition, seven medium stores were revamped, two new medium stores opened and two large stores downsized during the first quarter.
