In Persimmon’s interim management statement covering July 1-November 5, the company said its Castle Bromwich-based Space4 operation is on track for a 25% increase in new homes output in 2013.

“The improvement in build efficiency captured by this modern method of construction is helping us to respond to the improved sales rates we are experiencing whilst also providing further benefits of cost control on site,” it said.

Persimmon has increased its build rates across the country because of the better new homes market. The company also said it was 41% up on forward sales reserved beyond 2013 (compared to 2012).

Its forward sales beyond 2013 amount to £650 (2012: £462m), while it has sold more than 3,000 homes under the government-sponsored Help to Buy scheme.

Weekly sales have been 45% ahead of a year ago.
