Toby Kirwin has joined the company after working for several years as a branch and sales office manager for Jewson in the south of England before leaving to take up a project management role in building redevelopment schemes.
He will initially be based at Gill & Robinson’s headquarters in Newcastle but will also spend time at the four branch offices in order to get to know the rest of the sales team and their customers.
After visiting the main supplying mills Mr Kirwin will then start developing his own accounts.
John Hood, who has 60 years’ experience in the timber trades, has also joined the company. As part of his retirement strategy, he as brought with him the agency for Olavi Rasanen’s Kieppin sawmill, as well as several live connections with some Swedish sawmills.
