The BMF has 425 members, including some of the biggest names in the business and five of the leading buyer’s groups.
It selected the TTJ Career Development Award to sponsor due to its own commitment to industry training and skills development.
The Award recognises achievement in timber sector qualifications, and the entrants’ application and success in putting their learning to use in the workplace and in developing their career in the sector.
The category is itself divided into two sections. The first is for entrants under 25 and targeted at newcomers to their business. The over 25 Award is for those who have been in the timber industry (in its widest sense) for a while, but continued to build their knowledge through some form of continuing professional development.
"Having such a key organisation as the BMF on board is very exciting for the TTJ Awards and we’re looking forward to working with them to develop the Career Development category and encourage candidates to enter from their many member companies," said TTJ editor Mike Jeffree.
The TTJ Awards takes place on September 25 at The Landmark hotel in London.
