As usual, TRADA had a strong presence at Ecobuild, reflecting its strong membership base among architects, specifiers and builders, with a strong line-up at its seminar theatre discussing everything from timber frame and cladding to specific timber building case studies.
Structural engineers Arup, Price & Myers and Ramboll joined architects White Design, RP Architects, dRMM and Mole Architects, as well as TRADA staff to present a range of subjects.
"We tried to make sure we had something substantial again this year," said Rupert Scott, TRADA membership and marketing director. "Last year we did tours and they went really well. This year it’s seminars and quizzes, giving people a chance to win a bottle of wine."
He added that there were a lot of architects at the show.
Mr Scott said TRADA was partnering with Arup on a timber structure at the London Design Festival. The installation will feature at Timber Expo in October.
